FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CC Young Senior Living Turns Veterans Day into Veterans Week
Retirement community is home to 55 veterans, including three World War II vets

DALLAS (Nov. 1, 2023) – Recognizing that the sacrifices of our nation’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines deserve more than just a single day in the spotlight, CC Young Senior Living has turned Veterans Day into a week-long celebration. The events will honor servicemen and women, and the spouses who supported them during their time of service.

The tribute kicks off on Monday, Nov. 6, with a visit from Patriot Paws, an organization that provides trained service dogs to disabled veterans, and concludes on Friday, Nov. 10, with a Veterans Day celebration featuring CC Young-Uns resident choir performing a service song medley and “God Bless America.” Dallas County Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel, District 1 will also participate in the Friday celebration.

CC Young Senior Living, a leading non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community, is home to 55 veterans, including 52 residents and three staff members. Among those who served are three World War II veterans, including a former U.S. Marine Corps corporal and trumpeter who will play taps at the Nov. 10 ceremony.

Throughout the month of November, resident and staff veterans will be showcased in the “Lieutenant Colonel Kent Shields Wall of Honor” in The Point on the CC Young campus.

Veterans will be on hand for media interviews throughout the week.

“One of the most special times of the year at CC Young is the week we dedicate to honoring our resident veterans and their spouses,” said Russell Crews, president and CEO.  “It is such a privilege to serve our residents and staff members who sacrificed so much to ensure our freedom.”
