The Point

The Point is a 20,000 square foot center of activity for CC Young residents and members of the general public who are 55 and forward. An innovative ‘destination’ facility, it features an art gallery, café, meditation chapel, fitness center, classrooms, an auditorium, a theater, rental spaces, a library and more.

The Pavilion

The Pavilion

The Pavilion is a one-of-a-kind, large-scale sculpture that, along with its surrounding Central Park green space, provides a great outdoor location for staging events and life enrichment activities. It is a welcoming, nature-inspired focal point for residents, family members, visitors and team members to gather.

The Auditorium is an open and welcoming space for all types of events and activities: music performances and instruction, lectures and talks, community gatherings, and classes on every topic from academic, to business to general living.

Whatever your interests or goals may be for fitness or wellness, you will feel at home within the 2,000 square foot Dr. Kenneth Cooper Fitness Center. Equipment, exercise classes, guided training and other resources are made for all levels of participation, from beginner to seasoned athlete. It’s a great way to stay fit, social and active.

We realize that meals represent more than just nutrition. Mealtime and snacking enable you to gather, socialize and relax with family and friends. Grab a quick meal or snack at The Café & Courtyard in The Point from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday.

Meditation Chapel

The Dr. Don R. Benton Meditation Chapel at The Point is a welcoming place of worship and reflection for people of all faiths. There are a variety of ways to nurture your spirituality, including weekly ecumenical services. The chapel is open 7 days a week from 6:00am until 8:00pm for seated and quiet meditation.

The Library is made possible thanks to the generous donations by residents and area seniors! Our collection includes hundreds of large print and standard hardback books available for enjoyment. In addition to the large selection of books, visitors will find two computers, two Brain Fitness Systems, a huge selection of CDs and movies, and much more!

You’ll know there’s a movie matinee at The Point by the smell of freshly popped corn in the air. We show newly released films, documentaries and more in our very own theater.

Classrooms

The Point offers a full lineup of classes for all types of learning and educational presentations. Audio visual equipment, tables and chairs, and other amenities make opening your mind here and widening your knowledge a fun and stimulating pursuit.

Art Gallery

The Art Gallery at The Point is a busy place. Take in a monthly exhibit of works by a single artist or a display of pieces from members of a guild, organization or group. The Art Gallery is FREE and open to everyone on a daily basis.

Special Event Space

Special Event Space

The Point & Pavilion offers a wide variety of well-equipped classrooms and other spaces to rent. They are ideal for meetings, presentations, staff retreats, and other special events. There is also the option to purchase catering from our community dining venues. Space rental is based on group approval, size requirements and site availability.

Serving as the hub of our community, The Point & Pavilion in our Central Park is the focal point of activity, fitness, learning, art, music and much more. Its architecture as well as its mix of meeting and event spaces make it a truly special place. The Point & Pavilion acts as a connection between CC Young and the surrounding communities, continuing the commitment we have to serving not only our residents and their families, but everyone.

Membership

While many Point offerings are free to the public, Point Membership is required for access to the equipment room. Membership also affords discounts on various classes and massage therapy sessions. Please note that residents have full access to The Dr. Kenneth Cooper Fitness Center. Non-residents, age 55 and forward, may purchase a Point Membership to use the fitness equipment, to attend supervised gym workouts and more. Point Membership is offered as part of our community outreach philosophy which allows those who don’t live on campus enjoy reasonably priced wellness benefits.

FITNESS CENTER

The Dr. Kenneth Cooper Fitness Center in The Point & Pavilion features a 2,000 square foot equipment room and classroom. This is where you can stay active and healthy with classes and equipment for all levels of fitness.


SMALL GROUP FITNESS TRAINING


Residents and Point Members receive an annual assessment by our Wellness Coordinator with one-on-one guidance to learn proper form for your workouts. Call 469-828-3473 to schedule your appointment.


VARIETY AND FUN ARE PART OF EVERY DAY


Enhance your health with state-of-the-art equipment for both strength and cardiovascular training (exclusive for CC Young residents and Point Members). Massage therapy is also available on campus. Take part in fitness and wellness classes for chair aerobics and strength training. Join a walking club. Explore yoga, Tai-Chi, line dancing and more, including WiiTM games. (Our WiiTM bowling team has been national champions for three years in a row!)

Events

The Point’s Art Gallery highlights our belief that every person’s spirit and creativity are ageless. The Art Gallery is open daily from 7am to 8pm for CC Young residents only at this time.  We look forward to welcoming outside guest to the Point Art Gallery when protocols allow. Monthly Art Gallery shows will resume after the Spirit is Ageless Show. Each month we will offer a different exhibit with works by a single artist or a display of pieces from members of a guild, organization or group.
