Planning Today for Care Tomorrow: CC Young Senior Living Hosts Panel Discussion about Planning and Long-Term Care and Support

DALLAS (June 14, 2023) – One of the most stressful issues facing older Americans today is how to plan for long-term care – and how to pay for it. More than 55 million Americans are aged 65 and older and according to a recent Genworth study, 68 percent of them will require some form of long-term care assistance.

That medical care can look very different for each person, depending on the type of service needed. To help navigate this often-confusing process for older adults and their loved ones, CC Young Senior Living is hosting an interactive discussion to explore the differences between various senior healthcare services, including home healthcare, private care, palliative, and hospice care.

This free event will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 3:30-5 p.m. at The Vista, Christ Chapel, 4849 West Lawther Drive, Dallas, 75214.

On the agenda is a discussion about the types of care available, common misconceptions about the various levels of care, and the benefits of planning for the future before care is needed. The panel of experts will also discuss questions each person should consider when planning their own care, Medicare and its role, and costs and insurance coverage for various care options including independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation.

“Whether it’s for yourself or for a loved one, healthcare support and long-term care can be a daunting topic to address,” said Russell Crews, president and CEO of CC Young Senior Living. “We know planning can mitigate this stress for individuals and family members. CC Young is here to help provide the latest knowledge and resources needed to make informative decisions about the types of care that are available now and in the future. We look forward to an engaging and informative conversation.”

The panel will feature Dr. Steven Bray, who has worked with hospice patients for more than 15 years through his work with Grace Clinic, and CC Young Community Services Administrators including Cathy Thomas, administrator, home health, Nicia Wasson, administrator, private care and Jennifer Broadway, administrator, hospice care and palliative care.

The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Please RSVP by June 19, 2023 by contacting Abby Brown at 214-571-6216 or [email protected]. You can visit ccyoung.org/events.
