DALLAS (April 11, 2024) – D Magazine has recognized Demitra “Dee” King, CC Young charge nurse, urgent care, as a recipient of the 2024 D Magazine Excellence in Nursing Awards. Judged by a panel of esteemed leaders in healthcare, this award reinforces CC Young’s commitment to delivering quality and coordinated care for its residents.
“We could not be more proud of Dee for receiving this prestigious and well-deserved distinction,” said CC Young Senior Living Chief Executive Officer Russell Crews. “She not only takes excellent care of our residents, but also demonstrates our commitment to delivering quality care to all we serve. Dee’s colleagues, superiors, residents and their families have complete faith in her abilities and compassionate demeanor.”
According to Nena Paris, administrator, Assisted Living and Memory Support, King is recognized by CC Young medical staff and administration for her leadership and being integral to maintaining the highest
standards of care across the entire CC Young community. “Dee oversees a team that is responsible for the daily care of 50 assisted living residents in The Hillside and is also directly responsible for the campus Urgent Care Program, which serves more than 250 Independent Living residents. Her poise and competence set her apart as an exemplary nurse.”
The D Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award program was open to local hospitals, doctors, nursing organizations and patients to nominate outstanding nurses. Applications included answers to three questions regarding how the nurses affected their lives, communities, and professions. The editors selected the best nominations and sent them to a panel of esteemed registered nurses in various fields. The panel could not judge those they worked with directly. The D Magazine team compiled judges’ scores to select the 95 winners who also vetted the registered nursing licenses and reviewed any disciplinary actions of each winner.
