Following in the footsteps of her mother, an educator, Rickina taught early elementary school for a few years after college until it became clear, her true passion is working with older adults. Recognizing this, she moved from her hometown of Lake Providence, Louisiana to Dallas bringing with her a lot of heart and a little “Joie de Vivre”, where she lives this daily with staff and Residents at CC Young.

Rickina’s career journey at CC Young began in 2020 working as a CNA working on the frontlines in the Health Center. In relatively short order, her passion for leadership and Resident advocacy quickly propelled her through the ranks, serving as a Lead CNA and Restorative Aide before stepping into the role of Director of Memory Care Life Enrichment in 2022.

Her zeal for professional growth has continued through her involvement in the LeadingAge Texas Leadership Collective and successive promotions, ultimately being named Manager of Life Enrichment for all licensed services at CC Young in 2026, a role she believes is the heartbeat of healthcare. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in the “joy of living,” as she strives to bring genuine joy and a sense of purpose to every Resident.

Rickina, is a proud graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and holds a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies.
