In 2013, Nena joined CC Young as Intake Coordinator for Home Healthcare and Hospice. In relatively short order, she was promoted to oversee Home Services and later Administrator of that program in which she regularly exceeded revenue goals. In 2022, Nena became Administrator of Assisted Living and Memory Support where she uses her collective nursing and management skills gained over the years to serve our residents, their families, and The CC Young staff in this level of care.

A hospice nurse for more than 25 years, Nena has worked in every capacity of the field but always called to administration. Her experience also includes being a Vocational Nursing Instructor, cardiology, and pain management. Nena attended Amarillo College, graduating as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1990. She obtained CAPS (Certified Aging in Place) certification in June 2017. She is also a certified dementia practitioner and certified in administration for assisted living.

Nena enjoys working at CC Young because of the residents and learning their many amazing life stories. She also loves genuinely caring culture and being part of a dedicated team who puts their all into caring for residents and one another.

A native of Amarillo, Texas, Nena has always had a passion for cars, and enjoys attending car shows with her husband during her time off. Her first car was a 1973 Firebird and she learned to drive a stick at the age of 14. She is the proud owner of a 1971 Gremlin.
