Elena grew up in Oklahoma, and moved to Dallas in 2002. She joined CC Young in January 2021 and brings a wealth of experience to our team:  Bachelor’s of Arts in both Developmental Psychology and Sociology; certified as an Activity Director, a Dementia Practitioner, and a Montessori Dementia Care Professional. Her experience began as a volunteer at an Alzheimer’s respite care program before volunteering at Presbyterian Village North. Her volunteer position at PVN transitioned to a hired position in 2014 and she worked in Life Enrichment in Healthcare, Memory Care and Independent Living.  Besides her notable experience in Life Enrichment, she brings years of personal experience in the volunteer arena with organizations including Casa De Vida, Alzheimer’s Respite program, Vickery Meadow Food Pantry, Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet PTA, NorthPark Presbyterian Church, Le Leche League, and MOMS Club International to name a few.

Elena is drawn to East Dallas because of the proximity to cultural events and the vast areas to explore the surrounding nature. She enjoys all kinds of live music, from rock concerts to symphonies, and from coffee house singers to her children making their own music! Her family is musically oriented and they own a piano, oboe, French horn, guitar, and a bass guitar. Elena even rings the hand bells in her church choir. She says she can enjoy any music with uplifting beats and lyrics that she can dance along to!
