Cathy Thomas, RN, BSN, COS-C | ADMINISTRATOR, HOME HEALTH

Cathy joined CC Young in 2018 and brings nearly 30 years’ experience in nursing, including time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Room (ER), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The past 12 years have been in home health specifically focusing on senior care. Prior to joining CC Young, Cathy worked in both stand-alone and hospital/facility-based organizations. Her professional experience also includes managing the home health, hospice, and outpatient clinics of a major homecare agency, where she helped them achieve a professional rating of
4.5 stars.

As Administrator of Home Health, Cathy oversees a team of 30-plus RNs, CNAs and therapists serving 13 North Texas counties and ensuring compliance with Medicare and state regulations.

A native of Gaffney, South Carolina, Cathy earned an Associate Degree in Applied Arts and Science in Computer Programming from Richland College. After determining computer science was too “easy,” she changed careers to pursue nursing. She attended Texas Woman’s University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Biology. Among her credentials is special certification in Oasis Documentation- Cos-c (Outcome and Assessment Information Set), the data technology specified by Medicare to ensure care quality in home health providers across the U.S.

Cathy loves working at CC Young because of the residents and supportive co-workers and knowing she helps CC Young residents and those living in the broader community to age in place. Outside of work, she has a passion for travelling abroad and meeting interesting people. Cathy also loves spending time with her five children and five grandchildren. The first car she ever owned was a white 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville (the kind with the big fins).
