Dr. Alexander Peralta has 30 years of educational experience in the fields of pharmacy, internal medicine, hospice and palliative medicine. He has provided educational offerings to physicians, nurses, medical students, residents-in-training, Geriatric Fellows, Palliative Medicine Fellows and other health care professionals.
Dr. Peralta began his education at San Antonio Junior College, earning a degree in chemistry and earned his BS in pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds an MD jointly from Centro de Estudios Xochicalco, Cuernavaca, Mexico and from New York Medical College.
Dr. Peralta is the author of many peer review articles and has extensive teaching experience on the sensitivity needed in caring for patients with advanced cancer and non-cancer disease. He has presented at local, state, national and international programs in topics related to Palliative Medicine and End-of-Life Care. He is a member of the AMA, AAHPM, TNMHO, Texas Academy of Palliative Medicine (TAPM), Rotary International and Knights of Columbus.
