1. What is C.C. Young retirement community?
C.C. Young retirement community, located on the northern end of White Rock Lake, is a full service continuing care retirement community. This faith-based non-profit organization has a covenant relationship with the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. C.C. Young provides a comprehensive array of residential apartments, common areas, services, amenities, and a full continuum of health care programs.


2. What is a continuing care retirement community?

A continuing care retirement community offers accommodations at every level – residential apartments, assisted living, skilled nursing care, memory support and hospice care. The value of continuing care is best realized when residents require assistance or care. Residents feel secure in the knowledge that high-quality supportive services and care will be available, when needed, in an attractive, professional environment on campus.


3. What fees do residents pay?

Residents of Asbury and Thomas pay a onetime entrance fee that is 50% refundable to you or to your estate regardless of how long you live in the community. For services and programs residents also pay a monthly service fee. The entrance and monthly service fees vary depending on the number of residents and the floor plan you choose.


4. What is Asbury?

Asbury is a three story, residential living program that is comprised of one and two bedroom apartment residences. The Asbury also features additional venues where residents dine and gather for social opportunities, as well as administrative and support staff space.


5. What is Julian C. Thomas?

The Thomas building is a series of one story, residential patio apartments that is comprised of one and two bedroom apartment residences. Thomas also features additional venues where residents dine and gather for social opportunities, as well as administrative and support staff space.


6. What kinds of amenities are available on campus?
The most prominent amenity on the C.C. Young campus is The Point, the Center for Arts and Education, which was recently completed. It features opportunities for residents and non-residents to participate in stimulating programs for the mind, the body, and spirit. In addition to the classrooms for the learning experiences, there is a cafe, a performing arts theater, a library and spaces where many community partnerships will bring special services to the campus. The Point also features the Cooper Fitness Center with state-of-the-art equipment especially suited for older adults and an array of wellness programs for seniors.


7. What kinds of health care services are available?
C.C. Young is committed to residents’ maintaining good health and meeting a wide range of health care needs. Our health care services meet the highest standards and are the most extensive found in retirement communities in the Dallas metroplex today. Our specialized in-house health care services include:

  • The Blanton Assisted Living program
  • Lawther Point Skilled Nursing program
  • The Cove memory support program
  • Home Health Services on campus
  • C.C. Young Hospice program


8. What is included in the Monthly Service Fee?
The Monthly Service Fee provides access to the following:

  • Dining allowance for meals provided by C.C. Young in all dining venues;
  • Scheduled bi-weekly housekeeping service;
  • Utilities (except telephone and internet services);
  • Satellite television services;
  • Security service on campus;
  • Scheduled local transportation to designated shopping centers, social events, medical facilities, and places of worship;
  • Participation in group events and social, recreational, religious, educational, wellness, and cultural programs;
  • Access to The Point, the Center for Arts and Education, and other common areas of the campus;
  • Building maintenance and scheduled recurring pest control;
  • Maintenance of equipment provided by C.C. Young;
  • Janitorial services;
  • Urgent call system;
  • On-campus parking areas;
  • Access to all health care programs on the C.C. Young campus; and,
  • Fourteen days of free health care in assisted living or skilled nursing annually.


9. May I furnish and decorate my apartment?
Yes, absolutely. Residents furnish and decorate their residences to reflect their personal taste. Our staff will work with you as you make selections to personalize your new apartment.


10. May I bring my pet?
Yes you may bring your pet as long as it does not disrupt other residents. We have developed a Pet Policy, which is in the Resident Handbook. The policy provides for the appropriate care and attention for pets and their interaction with other residents and community property.


11. How do I become a resident?
Becoming a resident is an easy three step process as shown below:

  1. The first step is to make the Initial Deposit in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1000.00).  The deposit is fully refundable and secures your position to make a selection of the floor plan and location. 

  2. The second step is to complete a Reservation Agreement and make a deposit equal to ten percent (10%) of the Entrance Fee, less a credit for your Initial Deposit. 

  3. Our staff will work with you to begin planning your move.  The move-in coordinator will arrange for your closing appointment at which time you will complete the Residency Agreement and pay the balance of your Entrance Fee.  We will work with you every step of the way to make sure your move to C.C. Young goes smoothly and with a minimum of stress.


12. What is my next step?
