A most important need is the need to increase our endowment by $5M. It has long been accepted that the way to sustain an organization is through its endowment. C.C. Young must remain proactive rather than reactive to the needs of our residents and the community. We must be proactive in planning for a financially sound future and to fulfilling our mission of continuing to deliver excellence in our services to our residents and the senior community beyond our walls. This can only be accomplished through an endowment that will allow us to be the change we wish to be.
C.C. Young must build financial stability and security so that we will be less reliant on fees and government funding and still have sufficient capital for innovation and change to better enable individual coping with ever changing demographics.
Endowment funds are needed to sustain The
Point, The Center for Arts & Education, which was dedicated in September, 2007. While the facility is paid for, programming and upkeep are ongoing expenses. We must provide a source of income that is needed for The Point if we are to continue to provide opportunities for our residents and for the greater community-at-large. We must have funds for operating expenses that will allow us to design future programming that fulfills the vision of C.C. Young and it must come from endowment.
Endowment funds are needed for program development. As the population ages, the need increases for innovative programs to meet identified needs of all of our residents. Endowment funds are needed for benevolent care. In FY ’07 C.C. Young provided $1,141,971 in benevolent care. As the average life expectancy climbs so does the number of people who are outliving their financial resources. C.C. Young takes pride in the fact that it has always been able to allow individuals who entered with the expected resources to provide quality care for life, yet due to circumstances beyond their control, find they can no longer afford the services, to remain as residents.
