Our Senior Staff

One measure of C.C. Young’s shared spirit and welcoming environment is the fact that so many of our staff have been with us for so many years. We’re also fortunate to attract some of the brightest and most compassionate people in their fields, eager to work in our community.

Kenneth T. Durand, President/CEO has had many roles in state and national associations, specified work groups for the State of Texas, and served as an adjunct professor in the department of Applied Gerontology at the University of North Texas. He has more than 20 years’ experience as C.C. Young’s Administrator and now President. Mr. Durand is recognized as an expert in long-term care issues and the continuing-care retirement community environment.

Kent Shields, Vice President, Operations holds two Master’s degrees: Long Term Care Administration and Business Administration. Following a 25-year career in the military, Mr. Shields joined C.C. Young in 1995. He has led C.C. Young through two renovations and new construction efforts.

J. Russell Crews, Chief Financial Officer is a Certified Public Accountant and joined C.C. Young in February 2008.  Mr. Crews has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master of Arts degree in Economics.  Mr. Crews has in excess of 25 years of financial management experience in public accounting and private industry.
