Enriched by the Community around Us. Great and Growing Collaborations

C.C.Young is a bridge to the world around us: We’re constantly exchanging ideas and news with the many Dallas-area collaborators who join us in stimulating mind, body and spirit. For example, Eastfield College conducts classes at The Point, The Center for Arts & Education. Scientific teams studying the health needs of seniors meet and even conduct research here. Specialized support groups bring life-changing information to our residents. C.C. Young reaches out to our neighbors with activities that bring together all generations.
We’re active in community improvement projects, such as the new HUD housing at Umphress Terrace, created for seniors with limited income, in collaboration with neighboring Umphress Road Methodist Church and the Pleasant Grove Senior Center. C.C.Young will manage and provide support services for residents of the 53 self-care apartments when they open in 2008.

C. C. Young is proud to collaborate with:

  • Alzheimer’s Association
  • American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (AAHSA)
  • American Parkinson Disease Association (ADPA)-Greater Dallas
  • Arthritis Foundation, Texas Chapter
  • Baylor School of Nursing
  • The Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST)

“Attending the Senior Net sessions at C.C. Young has really enhanced my life. I’ve taken computer classes, digital camera classes, pretty much anything they offered. I want to stretch my brain. I’d been so busy in the business world, I didn’t have time for hobbies. Now, to take an art class, that’s a real lark! And when they started talking about The Overlook, I thought, ‘Well, now: That’s for me!” - Anita Hullum, future resident
